About

Hi, I'm Christian, an Arlington, Virginia based photographer.  While this site's focus is my photography, it also provides an opportunity for me to explore others avenues and activities.  If you're interested in my photography and would like to have me shoot your next event, please contact me and I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

It’s the White House!

Well, not really, but that’s what a nice looking family thought when they walked onto Memorial Drive from the bike path along Jefferson Davis Highway and saw the Arlington House in Arlington National Cemetery.

The following is a conversation I overheard while walking to the 2009 Presidential Inauguration and it’s too good not to share, but hopefully is not indicative of our population’s general geographic understanding.

Family: “It’s the White House!”
Security Guard: “It’s not the White House.”
Family: “It’s the White House, up on the hill.”
Security Guard: “It’s not the White House. You’re still in Virginia.”

Unfortunately, the day was contrasty and hazy, and because it’s winter, there’s just so little color to make this photo pop.
