About

Hi, I'm Christian, an Arlington, Virginia based photographer.  While this site's focus is my photography, it also provides an opportunity for me to explore others avenues and activities.  If you're interested in my photography and would like to have me shoot your next event, please contact me and I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

Giant Banners

As I mentioned in a previous post, the Olympic committee hung massive Olympic themed banners from many of the buildings located in Salt Lake’s downtown. They all faced west towards the location of the medals plaza where every night medals were awarded and bands played.

While most travel with Governor Leavitt was by Chevy Tahoe (black of course) there were a couple times where he traveled by helicopter to some of the farther distant events. One particular trip we flew by the downtown area and I was fortunate enough to have a relatively decent angle out of the side window to capture some aerial images of Salt Lake.

In the following image the LDS Church Office Building is located to the left and in the center are the LDS Temple and Tabernacle (dome), which is commonly referred to as Temple Square. Also, Rice Eccles stadium is located on the top, just right of center.

In this image of the Utah Capitol Building, the giant lighted flag shown earlier is located in the lower right hand corner.
